Mindful Music Council

FREE EVENT

You are warmly welcome to join this council for acknowledging Power Abuse in the Classical Music World, and to come together to share, to witness, to be heard and to rise awareness for this topic.

It is easy to go into a black and white type of thinking. Of victim and perpetrator. And while it is important to learn about our boundaries and to find a new standard for interaction between teachers and students, we are all part of a system, and so with any issue there can’t be a quick fix. We need to slow down and take responsibility for our own triggers and tend towards our own healing journey. Only this way we can start developing a clear sense of our boundaries and move away from abuse. And by that, naturally support a more healthy relational culture in schools and other musical environments.

This is a very sensitive and complex topic. With the support of therapists Leonie von Arnim and Susanne Feld we will create a conscious space for navigating it.

  • How can we speak up and stand in our truth without going into blaming and finger-pointing? Is it important to always speak up?

  • How can we take care of ourselves when we find ourselves in an abusive relationship/situation?

  • What are our values, what is the standard of how we wish to interact with each other in the musical environment?

This event if free of charge.

With Alina Pogostkina, Susanne Feld and Leonie von Arnim.
